Welcome to Glenesk Folk Museum

Admission charge £5 per adult under 16's free of charge

Exceptional Changes to Opening Hours

As a largely Volunteer run organisation, there are times when we simply don't have 2 people available to allow us to open the Museum. It hurts our business to be closed, so we do it with great reluctance. We know it disappoints our visitors and we want to avoid that at all costs but sometimes, it is just not possible to open.

When our hours have to change, you will see the details here:

Exceptional changes to opening hours:

SUNDAY OCTOBER 12th 2025

Open from 12 noon to 4.30pm

Last admission to the Museum at 3.45pm

Autumn/Winter Opening Hours

From 1st October, except when events are running, the Cafe at Glenesk Folk Museum will have new opening times:

Full Cafe Service will be offered Friday to Sunday inclusive between 12pm and 3.30pm or by appointment for groups.

At other times, the Cafe will be run by our Volunteers whenever the Museum is open and the number of volunteers available allows.

This change has become necessary due to employment costs rising and visitor numbers reducing during the Winter months.

We stay open all year round, excepting a break over Christmas. This year we will close on Sunday 14th December and reopen on Sunday 1st February.

We hope that you will support us this Winter when you will be assured of a warm welcome by our cosy fire.
